BLONDE MILK LORE

BLONDE MILK was founded by Aléz Smorenburg in Cape Town in 2025 following a celebration devoted to beauty, adornment and Oshun. Depending on who you ask, this was either a spiritual experience or the beginning of a jewellery label.

Everything is made by hand by Aléz in a small Cape Town workshop using a mix of reclaimed and new materials including pearls, sterling silver, brass and steel. Pieces are released in small batches for select stores or made-to-order directly through the studio in custom measurements.

The Land of Blonde is the world surrounding these objects. The Blonde Void sits somewhere at its centre. People tend to find it during transitional periods of their lives, usually while looking for something else entirely.

Blonde, despite decades of misinformation, has very little to do with hair colour. Blonde is a type of person. Historically speaking, blondes have included overthinkers, romantics, difficult muses, ex-party girls, perfectionists, women in sunglasses indoors, people banned from family WhatsApp groups, excommunicated daughters and anyone who has ever developed a deep emotional attachment to an object for reasons they could not fully explain.

BLONDE MILK is made for people who have, at some point in their lives, been described as 'a lot.' People with complicated taste, strong feelings about metal hardware and at least one outfit their mother hates.
